Like all museums everywhere, we rely on financial donations and fund raising to not only stay open, but also to provide the programs and services we offer. We receive funding from the Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County to help fund our operations, but we must raise the rest through Provincial and Federal grants, fund raising events, our Pioneer Museum Tea House and most importantly through donations from individuals and businesses.

Monetary donations can be made in the following ways:

Annual Operational Donations. These donations are put towards operating expenses, such as utilities and insurance. Recognition is by a plaque on our donations boards. A tax receipt is issued at the time of donation.

Monthly Direct Withdrawal: Donors who wish to donate to the Museum on a monthly basis can be set up with an automatic direct withdrawal from their account. These donations are put towards operating expenses such as utilities and insurance. A tax receipt is issued at the end of the year for the total amount.

Project Donation: Donors who wish to support a specific Museum project can do so. Donations will only be allocated to that specific project and no other purpose. A tax receipt is issued at the time of donation.

Endowment Fund: The Museum has prepared the paper work and is ready to start an endowment fund through a registered financial investment firm. It awaits its first donation to open the fund. A tax receipe is issued at the time of donation.

As a registered charity and non-profit, we are able to provide tax receipts for any donation over $20.00. Financial donations may be made directly to the museum. In addition there are gifts of securities, planned giving through life insurance and corporate donations and sponsorship.
